FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


Q: Will my application be accepted if it is postmarked by the due date? No, applications postmarked. but not received, will be considered late and, therefore, ineligible for funding.

A:  Applications must be received at the office of The Philadelphia Cultural Fund by Friday, September 21, 2007 at 5:00 P.M. Timely delivery is the responsibility of the applicant.

 

 


Q: Can my organization apply if it does not have 501(c)(3) status from the IRS? Only if your group is a new organization.

A:  Please consult the eligibility guidelines provided in the application materials. These organizations are allowed to apply through another 501(c)(3) cultural organization if they meet certain requirements.

 

 


Q: What if my organization does most of its programs in Philadelphia, but the office is located outside the city?


A:  The office must be located within the city limits, verified by your printed stationery and other literature or marketing materials you submit with your application. The majority of your programming must also take place in the city of Philadelphia.



 

 

Q:  Must my organization have an audited financial statement?

A:  Yes, if your budget is over $150,000, an audited financial statement is required.

 


Q:  What if the audited financial statement for the most recently completed fiscal year is not yet available?


A:  Submit the most recent audit that you have, with a note indicating that you will send the newly completed audit as soon as it becomes available.

   

 

 

 

 

Q:  I haven't heard from my site visitor; is my organization going to get a site visit this year?

A:  Your organization has been assigned a site visitor. If he or she has not contacted you by October 15, please call the Cultural Fund office to let us know.

 


Q:  My organization doesn't fit into any of the categories that are listed, what should I do?

A:  Please call the office and speak with a member of the Cultural Fund staff. They will help identify the best category for your organization.

 

 

 

 

 

Q:  I'm a first time applicant, and can't come to a workshop, am I still eligible to apply?

A:  Yes you may apply. Please contact the office and speak to a member of the staff about your application.
