General Operating Grants Overview

Instructions

For the FY2011-2012 general operating grants, PCF will be distributing approximately $1,600,000. Last year grants ranged from approximately $750 to $11,000.

ONLINE APPLICATION
The fy2011-2012 application is COMPLETELY ONLINE. There will be no copies to make and no sample materials to deliver. Please allow yourself plenty of time to review and complete the narrative portion of the application. The questions are different from last year’s application.

Sample materials must be in electronic form. These can include audio and video samples, in addition to materials such as reviews and articles, programs, flyers, and photos. If sending audio or visual samples, please limit them to 3 minutes in length.

The application deadline will be FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 AT 5:00 PM. No Exceptions. Please do not wait until 4:55pm to submit your electronic application.

NEW CATEGORY
For the first time, Large Institutions (defined as having budgets of $5 million and over) will be a panel category.  As with New and Emerging organizations, Large Institutions operate differently than the majority of the applicants to PCF.  The Large Institution panel will be multi-disciplinary (as is the New and Emerging panel) and will consider the specific operational needs of these large institutions in their review.  The allocation of funds to these large institutions will not change; they remain subject to the grant calculation formula.  Only the panel will change.

CULTURAL DATA PROJECT (CDP)
It is very important that the information in your CDP Funders Report be as complete and accurate as possible. This information is used to evaluate your organization. One specific instruction for the data you enter in CDP – please enter last year’s PCF grant award in the “Government – City” section.

CDP offers training for new users (and returning users – since you probably only do this once a year and tend to forget) every 1st Wednesday. Please find more information at www.pacdp.org/new.aspx. In addition to training, CDP has a Help Desk to assist you with your questions.

Six application workshops have been scheduled. It is recommended that you attend one. First time applicants are required to attend a workshop. A list of these workshops along with a registration form can be found here.
