The Philadelphia Cultural Fund

philadelphia

The Philadelphia Cultural Fund was established in 1991 with the passage of Bill No. 1424, authorizing City officials to file articles of incorporation for its creation. In January 1992, incorporation papers were signed, establishing the Philadelphia Cultural Fund as a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to provide funds to enhance arts and cultural organizations throughout the City of Philadelphia. An annual appropriation in the City budget is the primary source of funding for these grants.

Through the combined efforts of the Philadelphia City Council and the Mayor, the Philadelphia Cultural Fund provides operating funding to Philadelphia-based arts and cultural organizations. Since FY1993, the City Council has allocated over $12,500,000 to the Philadelphia Cultural Fund.
